Syz Angelini

Philadelphia, PA

Syz Angelini is a painter based in Philadelphia. Growing up as a dual citizen and splitting time between Florida and Rome, their art has been inspired by the similarities of life found across dramatically different environments.

An avid artist since childhood, Syz began focusing on their artistic development through early college enrollment rather than a traditional high school experience. They were awarded Temple University’s Presidential Scholarship and graduated in 2024 with a B.A., double majoring in Painting and Environmental Studies.

Syz’s artistic interest lies in the search for common themes between their and others’ stories: expanding narrow lived perception to the universal. The subject matter in their art ranges widely based on where these connections reveal themselves, whether they be in human and nonhuman forms.

Syz enjoys experimenting with mediums and specializes in oils and watercolor. They enjoy the physical process of painting and continually expanding their knowledge about the materials and techniques of their craft.

Syz’s work has been featured most recently in Vox Populi’s Cabinet Of”, Project Ieerie’s “Let me know you are alright” at the University of Pennsylvania's Charles Addams Gallery, and in a solo exhibition at Tyler School of Art as a recipient of Temple’s Creative Arts, Research, And Scholarship grant.

Shannon Meis

Kansas City, MO

Shannon is a Kansas City, Missouri-based artist and illustrator. She received a Bachelor’s in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD Savannah) and has been working in the art materials industry since 2015.

Shannon has a rich background in dry mediums – pencils, pens, markers and the like, and that lead to her employment with Copic, working as their in-house demo artist, product consultant and creative marketing lead. In the spring of 2023, however, she decided to expand her horizons outside of dry mediums and established her own unique geometric style of painting using heavy body acrylics and acrylic ink markers.

Shannon’s work is greatly influenced by her love of color, shapes, composition and detail. Although the subject matter and overall look of her art varies significantly from one medium to the next, she finds a consistent inspiration from color, nature, and the people she meets.

Shannon embraces the fact that she does not have one particular style or medium of preference. She genuinely enjoys experimenting with any art supply that comes her way and teaching people of all experience levels of how to use them, often making “happy accidents” in the process. To Shannon, making a piece of art that you’re proud of is a wonderful gift, but being able to share the joy of creating and learning something new with other people is priceless!
